Sorbets!

April 14, 2010

The Herb Companion posted several great ways to make sorbet (An herb flower sorbet is so simple to make that you can do it while visiting with guests over dinner. Good to know)

Earl Grey Tea Sorbet – This works best as a palate cleanser. It’s light and delicious.

Cinnamon Basil Sorbet – If you love cinnamon, you’ll love this one. It’s light, slightly fruity and adds a zesty twist to dessert or as a palate cleanser.

Sweet William Wine Sorbet – A wonderful palate cleanser that isn’t too sweet. The addition of the wine makes for a pleasantly smooth sorbet. This also makes a light, refreshing dessert in summer, served with a crispy cookie.

Basil Blackberry Sorbet – A favorite in the summer when the blackberries are ripe.

Minted Lime Sorbet -This is similar to a minty margarita that goes well with Mexican food or barbecue as a palate cleanser or as a light, cooling dessert.

Lemon Verbena and Pineapple Sorbet – Serve this lemon verbena and pineapple sorbet after a spicy main course.

Lilac Sorbet – The dark-colored flowers in this lilac sorbet produce an interesting, rich color.
